Riga Tourist Information Centre (Riga TIC) in Rātslaukums has joined the BalticMiles multi-partner loyalty programme. Now members of the BalticMiles programme will be able to earn three BalticMiles points for each Lats spent on LIVE RĪGA souvenirs at Riga TIC in Rātslaukums.

Riga TIC in Rātslaukums offers the widest range of LIVE RĪGA souvenirs – postcards, drink coasters, natural leather and linen products, magnets, thermos flasks, thermo cups, mugs, scarf-hats, hats, gloves, slipper socks, rugs, aprons, flash memory sticks, computer mouse pads and other practical items for everyday use, work and leisure, designed in the bright, saturated colours of the Riga tourism brand. The range of souvenirs can be viewed on the Riga tourism portal http://www.liveriga.com/lv/2786.

Riga TIC is open seven days a week, including holidays. During the active tourist season (May – September) Riga TIC in Rātslaukums is open from 9AM to 7PM, while non-season (October – April) working hours are from 10AM to 6PM.

BalticMiles is the first multi-partner loyalty programme in the Baltic States. It was launched in October 2009. In the BalticMiles programme, points can be earned from partners by purchasing airline tickets, hotel services, spa services, car rental services, cinema tickets, perfumes and cosmetics, jewellery and watches, design objects, bags and suitcases for travel, toys for children and more than 2,700 other types of goods and services. These can all be viewed on the www.balticmiles.lv internet site. The BalticMiles programme also offers a chance to donate points to various charity projects.

The most convenient way for clients to sign up for the BalticMiles programme is by registering at www.balticmiles.com, or by contacting the BalticMiles client service phone number. Customers can also apply for the programme by filling out an application form. The form can be found at all airBaltic ticket offices, registration desks, in the business lounge at Riga International Airport, as well as at the points of sales of programme partners including Rīga TIC in Rātslaukums and Līvu Square.

On 28 October 2009, the “Riga Tourism Development Bureau” (RTDB) foundation was registered in the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia. It was established by the Riga City Council, the national airline “airBaltic”, the Latvian Hotel and Restaurant Association (LVRA) and the Latvian Travel Agents’ Association (ALTA). RTDB works on promoting tourism and on marketing abroad what Riga has to offer tourists.

70% of RTDB’s voting rights are held by the Riga City Council, while the remaining founders – the national airline “airBaltic”, LVRA and ALTA – each hold 10%. LIVE RĪGA motto: “Good for Riga Residents - Good for Tourists!”
