Number of airBaltic passengers grows by 32% in June

Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 340,586 passengers in June 2010 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn), representing 32% increase comparing with the same month in 2009, when airBaltic transported 258,051 passenger. For the first time in history the monthly passenger number exceeds three hundred thousand. In June this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in Riga has increased by 31% compared to the same period last year.
During the firsthalf of the 2010, airBaltic transported a total of 1,472,089 passengers, or 22% more than during the same period in 2009, when the total number of passengers was 1,205,231.
In June, airBaltic operated 5,592 flights, or 41% morethanin June 2009 when airBaltic operated 3,965 flights. Between January and the end of June, the airline provided 26,748 flights in all.
The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, in June 2010 wasata level of 72% - the same level as in June 2009. During the first six months of 2010 airline’s load factor was at a level of 65%, or the same level as in the same period in 2009.
The15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 79.9% in June 2010. This means that almost 80 ofevery 100 airBaltic flights inJune departedat the planned time orwith a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
